Thanks for all the suggestions people. I decided to get a squier vm p bass, but i went to a music store and they didn't have one and the guy convinced me to try a squier jazz bass and i'm lovin it

I've been playing on a Jay Turser 400c for a while and i think its time for me to upgrade. I play mainly with a pick or slapping, and i play rock or funk. I've only got around three hundred dollars to get a new bass and i want to know what would be the best bass to get.
