    Kustom TnR - vintage only?

I love the vintage Kustom tuck and roll- although I must confess to using a sans amp in front. My favorite rigs for gigging are my twin white and black Kustom 200's. The white sparkle cabs have JBL's and the black cabs have Altec 421A's. The K200 heads are a loud 100 watts RMS (of course these...

    The Kustom Club

'tis indeed a RB 5. It's my workhorse. Kinda heavy. Shoreline Gold with matching headstock. Wide range of tonal options and I'm always able to get to a good tone quickly. I have it set-up a little on the high side so I can dig in pretty good.

    The Kustom Club

Here is a pic that you may have seen in another post. I absolutely love this rig- the cabs are JBL D140's. I have a matching set in Black with Altec 421-A's which sound a little "sweeter' if that makes sense. I own a bunch of Kustom tuck and roll.

    60's Solid State Bassman

I used a Standel Super Artist Bass amp in (I believe) 1974-75. It belonged to an older guy (probably at least 30) who was not playing for a while. I remember it being AWESOME- but that may have been a factor of it's size- 2 2x15 powered cabs stacked vertically with the head on top! Very cool...

    60's Solid State Bassman

It's interesting in that, while the Kustom 200 heads are only rated at 100 watts RMS, they seem so much more powerful than that. On a larger stage I chain two together with a Y at the input and I NEVER have to run the volumes over 10 o'clock. Past 12 they start to overdrive in a not so good...

When is two cabs too much?

Being the passive-aggressive personality type- I like two cabinets whenever the stage is roomy enough and the room is not dinky. It's comforting to know that I have the ability to put whatever kind of bottom is required into the often changing space/body ratio. Besides two cabinets looks way...

    1960's Kustom series 100 amp

IMO the K200 heads are sort of "two-dimensional" if you know what I mean. Also the sansamp is my DI. On some gigs the K200's sound great without any tone-shaping in front, then the sansamp gets switched on as a boost or mild distorton. Usually though it's on all the time, in a non-threatening...

    1960's Kustom series 100 amp

This is one of the K200 sets that I play out with. I have another pair of K200's in black. I confess that I use a Sansamp in front. I chain them together with a "Y" at the input. Even though they are (supposedly) only 100W RMS, they are very loud. Volume controls are never over 10 o'clock...

    Kustom 200

Too bad the K200 was in bad shape. I use them and love them. Here are some recent pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebrisk/sets/72157623173146512/show/
