Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

Rock and roll, then count me in. I actually had an SX Ursa Medium Scale for a bit, but I flipped it (not a fan of the glossy maple neckboard). In its place, I have a Douglas NB-C2 BK. So far, I'm happy. Anybody else spent some time with one of these? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Essex (SX) Bass Club - Part 15

Do Douglas basses count in this club, or do I have to go start my own club? :P

    Bass is Easier?

Easy to start perhaps, but difficult to master. It sounds like OP's "buddy" has an ego issue.

Slayer To Protest Westboro Baptist Church Leader Fred Phelps’ Funeral

God Hates Us All, perfect. I mean, if he's so inclined to hate, why discriminate? :D

Bassists who are lefties who play righty club.

I would like to join the team. I'm a lefty at almost everything, I guess I figured I should use my better hand for the fret work.

A little bit more on Marcy Francis: "Marcy Francis Born in the 'hood of West Philadelphia, Marcy was inspired by her father who was the first African American firefighter in the city, and a mother who was a prayer warrior and healer who made her own oils and soaps. Her Uncle Benny Francis who...

Sorry for the lack of replies, it is awesome seeing some of you know about this amplifier though! I'll compose direct replies once work lets up a bit. I'm also trying to take a look inside the cabinet sometime this weekend to see what speakers are installed. In the mean time, I discovered...

    Kustom K200 B1

It's been a while since we've fired it up, but unless things have changed it should still power up. The previously mentioned electrical issues may or may not manifest still, I'm not sure. I've ordered a speaker cable, once it arrives I'll test this bad boy out and let you know. I'm not sure...

    Kustom K200 B1

Anyways, here's what I know about the amp. It's a Kustom rig he bought second hand way back in the 1970s. We've fired it up a few times over the years, but it hasn't seen consistent use in quite a while. When used, the sound quality was fine and dandy, but I suspect there's a short in the amp...

    Kustom K200 B1

So I've been helping my parents clear everything out of their home (very sad, they're selling the house I grew up in :crying: ), and we came upon my father's old Kustom bass amplifier. I'm having a bit of trouble tracking down any information about it, so I figured I'd post some pictures here...

    Let's spread some musical misinformation

Did you know? The major scale is actually a completely unnecessary element of music theory. As we all know, only happy, up beat tunes can be crafted on this scale, and nobody wants to hear that ish no more. That is, except techno people, and the computer does all the music theory for them so...

    Rehearsal or Practice?

Rehearsal implies something more regimented than practice to me, particularly working on a set list. Practice seems like something more free form (working on new material, finding new sounds, etc.), possibly with beer? Of course, YMMV
