    Combo Amp

Awesome, thanks for all the help everyone, I really appreciate it. I am going to have a look at the Ampeg tomorrow, and I will give it a try. If I don't like it, then I guess it will be a battle of the Fenders.

    Combo Amp

Well, I have the option of going with the Rumble 60 as well, but I'd rather go with a bigger combo for the smaller gigs.

    Combo Amp

I have heard the Rumble 100 210 is better than the 100 115, but I have also heard from a few sources that the Rumbles just break, and the speakers are poor quality. I know that Ampeg is a trusted brand, and I think that I will go with the Ampeg, assuming nothing is wrong with it when I go to see...

So it should be either the Ampeg BA115 or the Bassman 100 then? I'm also liking that I can get the Ampeg for $275, no taxes, but the Fender will be over $400 + taxes I play rock and metal My bass is a Fender P-Bass I will be playing in a band with two guitarists and a drummer.

    Combo Amp

Alright, my genres of music that I will be playing are rock and metal mostly. For venues, small to medium gigs. I'm relatively strong, and the Rumble has wheels (forget the proper name, castors I think) and the Bassman is lighter. And I am willing to consider used gear. As a matter of fact, I...

    Combo Amp

Well, I've finally found a place near me selling combo amps for a decent price, but now I have a decision to make. This will be my first combo amp over 30 Watts, so I'd like some input. I can choose between a Fender Rumble 100 210, or a Fender Bassman 100 Combo. Which would be the better buy...

    Which One?

Well he says he already has a guy buying it, and that was less than 6 hours after he posted it up :P Oh well. And I will mostly be playing rock and metal with my bass.

That's some really good, and helpful information. Thanks for that :D

    Which One?

Very true. I live in a really small town, so just look on the bigger ones, like Hamilton, and then find deals on there. I have to drive a while to get there, but it's worth it ;)

    Which One?

Thanks everyone who has replied. I also play electric guitar, as well as bass. So I am used to 6 strings already. I am not sure how much of an adjustment it would be.

I'm over in Ontario :) And Kijiji is a godsend, that's where I got it from :bassist:

    Which One?

Thanks, there are some nice basses there. I have already bought my Fender however, and am now wondering if I should try and trade it for the Warwick.

    Which One?

Well, I just recently purchased a 4-string MIM Fender Precision for $300. But now a 5-string Warwick Rockbass Vampyre has come up for sale, for $500. The owner says he wants to buy a 4-string. I'm still quite new to bass, so was wondering if I could get some opinions on this from some more...

Yeah, I won't buy them until I know what they are, and if they are good and reliable.

    Help Out A Beginner

I was talking to the guy earlier and I confirmed that they aren't Hartke's. He's going to find out what they are, and then I'll look into whether or not they're good. He says he used the rig at the recording studio he ran. And it's nice to hear that the Hartke heads are good.
