Help Out A Beginner

Thanks for all of the responses everyone :) I have pretty much narrowed it down to the Ampeg and the Hartke. I just want the best sound for my money. I like the portability of the Ampeg, but if I get a better sound out of the Hartke then I will invest in that. Anyone here have experience with Hartke's?

I have experience with Hartke, but I've never seen those cabs. I would think that they're not Hartkes and before buying I'd try to figure out what they really are.

I've owned both 2000 and 3500 heads, and they were both great. There have been variants of the same model name, but the earliest ones sound nice and warm and clean. I don't know the 140w amp, but try it and see if you like it.

I was talking to the guy earlier and I confirmed that they aren't Hartke's. He's going to find out what they are, and then I'll look into whether or not they're good. He says he used the rig at the recording studio he ran. And it's nice to hear that the Hartke heads are good.

It would be fine with me if they weren't I was never a fan of Larry's speakers, but I do like his amps. It would just be nice to know what those boxes are before buying them!
