This. Re Class D Vs AB. I forgot a couple of other amps I owned: Hartke LH1000. AB. Big hefty tone with lots of slam. Very loud. Always musical, but relatively subtle passive tone stack preamp. A bit rough around the edges with quite a lot of noise/hiss in the signal chain. Hartke TX600...

Yeah the log pots on the Glocks can be a bit of a head**** and give the illusion of less power. I'm fairly certain the power amp clip light is very sensitive too and comes on earlier than most would - probably part of the Glockenklang uberclean tone philosophy

I know right!?...why can't those German and Dutch folk use proper American names?? The Patriot - Big Mac Thunderballs II or something... Or Sadowsky...or Bergantino..or Gallien Krueger......🤔😂

900 watts not enough for you ?? What kind of band are you in lol. More cones might be the fix rather than watts... Interesting to know the tone comparison with the HR2. I read a comparison between the HR2 and the Blue Rock (almost identical Pre, but class D power amp) and there were...

    **More immediate aggressive Shuttle. Doh.

I've tried a Streamliner too. Warm, fat, sizzly scooped tubey tone and had that squashy thing going on in the mids that tubes do. I preferred the more immediate aggressive Streamliner at the time. Many years ago now so might prefer the tubes in my old age.

Yes plenty of cool kit around these days. I can't say I've tried everything. I've never tried a Bergantino for example nor have I tried the Vanderkley Aurora/Spartan all of which I'm sure are exceptional class D amps. I have tried loads though - Peavey Sessionbass 200. My first amp. Absolute...

The Mesa looks fricken cool. As does the Genz. Genz Benz is what got me into class D in the first place - I went from a Genz GBE750 to a Shuttle, which at the time I preferred tone wise to the big GBE (I think the leaner quicker feel to the notes appealed at the time) ...long time ago now.

E.g. recently got my hands on a Genzler Magellan 800. Superb amp, just preferred the overall feel and tone of the Glock.

Nope. I'm in the "willing to accept the extra weight for the extra sweetness and heft class AB affords even if a decent class D gets 90% of the way there and also that Glock cost only £500 secondhand and almost no class D at that price would come close"....team

Hey all, I just managed to get hold of a bargain Vanderkley 410LNT (4ohms) to pair with my 210LNT (8 ohms), powered by my Glock Heart Rock II (putting out the full 1000 watts @ 2.67 ohms). Although it also sounded great when I had a 4 ohm 210LNT paired with the 8 ohm 210LNT, something bothered...

    Stacked volume in a jazz

So I'm wondering, is there any reason you cant do a V-V-T config in a two hole arrangement using a stacked 250k pot? I'm thinking either *V-V on the stacked and overall T on a separate individual pot or; *V and overall T on the stacked and the other V on the separate pot. I want to free up a...
