EQDs Speaker Cranker as always on

For sure! It does seem to react a bit differently to me than a standard overdrive (at least from the guitar demos I've heard). Seems to push out your sound in a pleasing way. Almost like a middle ground between a boost and an overdrive...but I don't have any first hand experience with it.

EQDs Speaker Cranker as always on

Thanks @skulletwhip ! I'm using an lpb1 now but I'm finding myself wanting something better. Seems like the Speaker Cranker would be a nice replacement. Were you using the Speaker a Cranker for lower or high gain? I usually use my lpb1's knob around 10-11 o clockish, so I imagine the speaker...

EQDs Speaker Cranker as always on

Is anybody using an Earthquaker Devices Speaker Cranker as on always on tone enhancement? If so does it stack well with other dirt pedals after it? I'm mainly curious how this might sound with a Fuzzrocious Demon or Rat Tail since I usually always have one of these (or both) always on. Any info...

    Mesa Titan Output Question

Hmm. Well I'm using 2 Powerhouse 2x12 cabs which should be a near perfect matching. The other day at practice I had the Titan's Channel 1 Master and Gain each set at about 10 o clockish and Output set to 10-12 o clockish. This was not very loud in my opinion. Usually with my Mesa M6 with the...

    Mesa Titan Output Question

    Thanks for all the help!

    Mesa Titan Output Question

I think that makes sense to me. Would it be a bad idea to crank the Master and use the Output has an overall level? I'm guessing this might create a dirtier tone...Whereas cranking the Output and using the Master for overall level would create a cleaner tone...not sure I'm right on that or not

    Mesa Titan Output Question

So running the OUTPUT up full is fine if I'm using the master as the actual level? Usually I don't have to crank the master on my M6 past 9 o clock. I'll try this on the Titan and see how it works. Just didn't want to do something foolish like maxing a control on a ridiculously powerful amp like...

    Mesa Titan Output Question

Hey, just got a Mesa Titan and I haven't got to tinker with it very much, but I was having some trouble getting it to be very loud the other day at practice. Each channel has it's own master volume control but there is also a single OUTPUT knob that effects the overall level of both channels...

    Fuzz decisions

@Seten - I don't think the Blower Box is actually a Rat style distortion, but I think some people have described it as having a similar sonic tonality to Rats. I've never tried the Blower Box though so I can't say. ECT is super awesome and huge with the tone bypass and the Grey Stache will tear...

    Fuzz decisions

Not technically a fuzz, but given the genres your playing you would probably benefit from having a Rat of some kind. A lot of players in the 90s (Krist Novoselic and David Wm. Simms to name a few!) used em for their grindy tone and it was the first distortion/fuzz on bass that sounded right to...

Malekko Diabolik or Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer?

I like lots of volume, I never keep my fuzzes at unity. Sounds like the Diabolik will be the better choice for now. Hopefully it is varied enough from my other dirt to warrant keeping it on my board.

Malekko Diabolik or Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer?

@bassmusic17 which one of these sounds bigger? Just curious.

Malekko Diabolik or Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer?

Thanks everyone. I was leaning towards the Diabolik anyways, but I'll probably end up with both at some point.

Malekko Diabolik or Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer?

I'm getting ready to order a Chrimbus fuzz and I've narrowed it down to the Malekko Diabolik or Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer. I know these fuzzes sound nothing alike but they are the same price and a similar footprint size, so I thought it might be worth it to see which one the members of talkbass...

To compress, or not to compress, that is the question

The volume on my D ang G strings is fairly uniform throughout the neck. There isn't a crazy difference in the volume of each string but enough for me to notice that the E and A are louder. I kinda doubt most people would really notice though. I'm just getting to the point where I'm getting...
