I've never bought an Amp before any basic recomendations?

Thanks I'm checking the Fender site now, I don't really know how watts effects the volume of the amp or sound if it all. I'm not looking for anything too big, or too loud Fender has alot of different rumble cabs and I don't know which size would be best, how much does the voltage effect the...

I've never bought an Amp before any basic recomendations?

When I first started playing Bass guitar, I purchased a "Fender"/Squire starter thing. A Squire MII J bass and a tiny Fender practice amp. While I've used the tiny Fender amp for playing live in a small club setting set to max volume, and been able to stay at a good volume and breakthrough the...

    70s Gibson EB-3s

Thanks, I was wondering about the one with the different pickup placement for the mudbucker. Seems very interesting. Are they very common I see them on reverb allot?

Drake Custom Bass Guitars ~FOR SALE~

On his website he's selling a five'r for around $2000, very cheap for a Drake! if only I could afford it. I guess before I look to suck expensive purchases I should get a job.

    70s Gibson EB-3s

I've seen the 70s EB-3s, and I saw the pickup placement is different, however I've never heard one. How does the sound differ. Are there any classic rock tunes that have 70s EB-3s on them?

It's not the Bass, it's you

I think this is 100% correct. If you're action is high you won't be able to play as precise. If your neck is uncomfortable you won't be able to be as precise. . Sure a professional set up could lower the action, but the most important thing is getting a bass that allows you to be the other 85%...

Need a Second Bass that is NOT Fender - Suggestions?

If you hadn't said weight I'd say a vintage Kramer, they were made with active electronics, in the later years, and have a very unique tone to them. Some weigh in around 9.5-10 pounds due to very small bodies, and lighter woods. They have a unique look that is absolutely unmatched. However if...

    anyone else noticed?

I'm a High School student without a job, though next summer I might get one. It took me over a year to save $1100 to buy my Kramer 350B for $800 plus $100 for case and new strings, luckily the Kramer 350B can depending on my fingerstyle plus tone knob, recreate the sounds of my favorite songs...

What Kind of Bass Guitar do you Play (Re-loaded)? BE SURE TO REVOTE!

Yeah, I never got why you'd need more than 6 string, and all I need is a fretted 4. If that's all the my Bass idols needed than its all that I need. I'm not dispariging 7+ strings, but I always thought it was just, more than I needed and I thought that most players 30-40% used 5+, at least on...

Gonna catch hate for this, but I am REALLY liking the Squier Affinity Jazz...

I own an Affinity Jazz, and I hate it. The action was literally a mile high! Close to an inch of the fingerboard. There was alot if buzz too for some reason. I would recomend buying a affinity replacement neck and buying a loaded J body,it would likely cost you around $200 plus shipping...

What do you guys think about the new Chowny Basses?

I just heard about this new company Chowny, they're a UK company with a MIC Semi-Hollow 31' bass. I don't think it's out yet, but if it is what do you guys think of it. Or what about new companies, I know I'm very happy to see new companies making basses around the world. Especially through...

    What's wrong with me - can't stop shopping :-)

Yeah, because I put my current Bass on Lay-a-way, not by my choice, my grades weren't great. The entire time from when I got home from the time I picked it up in the store I was worried I'd made the completely wrong choice, but when I got that Aluminum neck in my hands plugged it into my super...
