How much do you have invested in your current gear?

$150 s/h Schecter Stilleto Custom 4 (all I wanted was the hard case, but this came with it) $60 PitchBlack tuner pedal Apart from two leads and a strap, that is all. It's paid for itself many times over!

Does the BL deserve equal pay?

Well, I didn't play that gig either (nor book it). Where's my share of the takings?! :hyper: Seriously, this woman had as much to do with the gig as I did; she should be paid the same as me.

    Keeping P.A. Cables Organized

Different levels of heat, I think. We've never had a problem - I'm usually more worried about melting the cable..

    Keeping P.A. Cables Organized

Heatshrink can do custom printing for you - at a price - but what we actually do is use a yellow plastic label (from any old labelling machine). Stick that to the cable, then cover it with transparent heatshrink tubing and shrink it on. That way we can make our own custom labels for whatever...

    This was a first

My BL uses straplocks, but they occasionally used to unscrew on him and drop his guitar anyway. Saving myself from endless bass solos while he sorts himself out, I introduced him to Loctite Blue; those things won't come out again (if they ever did, Loctite Red is waiting in the wings)...

    Trouble with a hired musician

For $20, I'd agree with fdeck; pay the money, use the guy, then drop him. Arrange with the hiring company to either deliver to the studio, or discuss $10 extra for half-a-day either side of the session to cover getting the equipment there.

    HELP!

Well, we prefer to just roll them in a carpet and dump them into some cement foundations... :hiding:

    Keeping P.A. Cables Organized

Some of this; http://www.heatshrink.com/heat_shrink_tubing/w3c_4ft.asp and a desktop label machine (we use a Brother pTouch) gives us this. No messing with sharpies! The 3:1 (or 3.25:1) ratio tubing is big enough to get over a 1/4" plug without taking it off (not the one in the photo, but...

    Trouble with a hired musician

He knows what is required; it's up to him to supply the equipment/arrange delivery. Nothing to do with you. If he can't turn up on the day with the right equipment and the songs nailed (if he's missing rehearsals), then he's out, and he should pay any extra costs incurred in finding a...

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

Usually my signal chain is brain*->fingers->Schecter Bass->Korg Pitchblack tuner->Aguilar DB750 * - optional I have a Boss OC2 Octaver, which gets a run-out about twice a year on 'The Great I Am' - I kick it in at the 'The Mountains shake before him' section. That's about the only song...

Would you Buy a Used Bass From Guitar Center?

Talk to a shop manager on the phone. You'll be surprised. They have an enormous number of exclusions on their coupons, but they're there for the benefit of the manufacturers, who like to say that they don't discount their products. Roll up with a 15% off voucher and buy anything, and you'll...

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

Not on this weekend - it's the other teams turn. Step-son is subbing on drums for them; he texted earlier... "Pete! This practice is terrible compared to your team!" (he's played with us for the last month) ... he was there two hours, and they played as a band for about 30 minutes...
