Thanks for the reply ..it .Ames .e feel better that you all agree . I took it to a guitar shop and they agree that it is NOT a crack ..although one person said it looked like "checking " that you may see at the end of a board were it was cross cut and the begins to loose moisture content and...

I should mention the crack /split does NOT to through and is not visible on the front of body.

I called Fender ..they were less than awake . "Yea , I don't know , it could be from before it was finished , may grow into a on issue some day, sorry. I would at least think they would ask for pictures . I sent an email with pics anyways .

Hello I have a squire vm jazz (see pics ) it is second hand and has a crack in the back of body..it is under the finish , is this anything to worry about ? It the finish was cracked I would think it happend since production , but for it to be 100% under the finish and 4 years old it may be...
