Lowering the pickups usually helps to remove the bias towards brightness. The trick is to find the height that balances the tone while maiintaining a decent output signal to drive your rig as desired.

1000 watts can be a lot of things. Continuous? RMS? Program? Peak? Max?(which is useless.) If it's Max or Program then you are playing through a highly overstated system that is more like 300-500watts peak and 250W RMS If it's 1000w continuous or RMS then you should have no problem and...

I had a 78 Precision bought used in '80 for $375 in beautiful condition. Black on black, rosewood and full ashtrays. Had it for maybe 5 years and never loved it so sold it. Neck was unstable and weak electronics. I wish I had kept it for display purposes.

Ibanez GVB36 for $299 from GC said to be in good condition. It arrived in like-new but unplayable condition with neck straight, the strings and bottomed out and zero fret wear on the underside . It looked like it had had never been played. It played great after setup. Loved it for awhile...

That's excellent news! I love my Cirrus 6 and it's my go to bass. Life wouldn't be the same without it. It's a stock walnut body, but what a neck!

Rosewood. It doesn't shrink as much in dry seasons or climates as maple. It also looks better IMO.

I'm picky about not having sound guy/gal who want the bass run direct 'cause he'll make it sound great. I play in an original band. How do they know what it's supposed to sound like? Also -low action.
