Buy Me A Bass?!?

Late to the party here…..

If you already have a P and J then make sure also a Rickenbacker, Guild Starfire and maybe some kind of Gibson. And maybe a Jack Casady. Barring all that, then a Dingwall or Alembic. Or a BC Rich Mockingbird just to look cool.

Or get a Fender mod shop or custom shop P or J for the exact look and features you want. Custom shop takes a year to make it turns out, they must be really backed up.

A Mockingbird would be pretty cool.
I’m a fan of Mod Shop. I have a satin black P with tort and a solid rosewood neck as well as a guitar from there. Any CS dealer can also process a Mod Shop order which is what I have done. That way you don’t have to worry about it arriving when you’re not home and the shop inspects it and does basic setup for their commission but your cost is the same as direct.

I don’t need to spend it all but I have been thinking it would be fun to get a bass that I don’t have or necessarily need but something kinda cool.

So hit me up. What should I get for No Reason?

And if y’all don’t give me any great ideas I’ll just get a Kenny Wayne Shepherd Stratocaster, bound and blocked, looks like a Jazz bass sort of. So technically it’s up to you to maintain the bass/guitar universal balance.

Take your wife on a grand tour.

You're in TX, USA, so:

- NYC for a custom Sadowsky, from Roger's shop.

- Canada for a Dingwall, From Sheldon. He's on the Great Plains. Start on the east or west coast & work your way there.

- Poland for some wonderful offerings there (cant' decide). Start in Krakow and work your way out.

She schedules the attractions and other activities, you get the basses.

Could be a plan.

That should go through some of that excess money you have.

Sounds to me like you need a Gibson. While an SG or V would be cool, I recommend a 60s Thunderbird. There's nothing like them.
