1972 Jazz Bass body that I sanded the original 3TSB finish off of (quite the job that was!) and tung oiled. 1972 Telecaster Bass neck with stock tuning keys. Rickenbacker hi-gain pickup in place of the stock mid/neck pickup. Schaller 3D bridge. Toggle switch in place of tone pot.

love it - who didn't strip and mod their bass in 1972?

'68 EB-3 (because of Jack Bruce) bought NOS in around 1970-71, stripped the cherry finish off (Watco-oiled) and had the frets pulled (pre knowing of Jaco) in '72...
I imagine someone buying that bass and spending a lot of energy and money to return it to its original factory state! ...or not, who knows?

In my case I did the deed in 1983. Here is a recording I made with it for a audio recoreding class in college.

I had another Telecaster Bass in the mid '70s that I ripped pulled the frets out of after hearing Unorthodox Behaviour when it came out. Percy was way ahead of Jaco for me!

I imagine someone buying that bass and spending a lot of energy and money to return it to its original factory state! ...or not, who knows?
