Any 5 string Players happy going back to 4 String bass?

There are some days that I wish the 5 would have never been invented however it is a necessary member of the arsenal for many applications. My "go-to" bass is an Aria 4-string fretless which I installed a Hipshot extender which I have tuned to a "B" in the drop position. It actually works very...

Squier Affinity Jazz V good? or just good 4 the $ ?

I just purchased one of these 6 months ago and it is hands-down one of the best basses I ever played in my 38 years of playing bass. I even like this better than my 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 and any Fenders that I played in various music stores. If it was fretless, I would only need to ever take...

Fender really hit something with these! I own several high-end instruments, but really love my Squiers just as much. Can...

Need string suggestions. Rounds. Higher tension. Growly.

Did you ever try GHS Pressurewounds? I have an Aria Pro with a rosewood fingerboard. These have a smooth feel and do not eat into the fingerboard, but have a distinctive growl. I have had many compliments from fellow bass players on my sound.

I'm convinced that Squier basses sound as good as Fender

I just got a brand new Squier Affinity J-Bass 5 a few months ago and absolutely love it! I played many basses in 38 years and this ranks at the top with my Aria Pro Avante Fretless 4. I ran the Squier straight through the board naked and there isn't a dead note on it at all.
