I found the D and G tension to high for me personally....they just didn’t feel good under my left hand. I loved the feel of the A and E.... Switched to plain Lyon G and Pistoy D and wound E and A and love the feel, sound and they bow/slap nicely.

Honestly....I have never wiped my bass off after playing with my bow. Maybe 15 years now. There is a sticky buildup on the top of the bass. Any idea on how to safely remove it?

Just barely got done putting new stings on...gamut gut d and g light + and it has never felt better. I can’t stop playing it...

I just loosened my strings to oil/clean/regular maintain my bass. I left the strings tuned a half step lower on accident and absolutely loved to feel of the strings. (E- spiro Med. A-Gamut Red Diamond wrapped Gut D-Gamut Lyon Gut heavy G-mystery Pirastro Gut) Any idea on adjustments other than...

Yes. Gain set consistently. Usually the boost and woofer around 9-11 o’clock

That’s about exactly where the gain is set on the head. I’m maybe assuming it’s the boost in addition to the master(woofer)? I have a gig tonight so I’ll have a chance to play around with it before we start

No boost. Is there that much of a difference between sending the signal pre or post eq? I do sometimes send it post if I know the soundman isn’t great....but obviously I’m not great at this myself

One more thing, the gain level on the Radial was set running a signal to a board after experimenting at a couple venues. I had the engineer tell me when he was getting an appropriate level to mix

Ya, standing next to the bass. I am do for a setup with all the strings I’ve been trying but it just sounds thuddy with no definition...at least compared to a plain Gamut Lyon.

I just stuck a set of these on. The D string to me sounds muddy without a lot of definition...did you experience this? I love the G and really like the tension of the set

I read through it. Just wondering if there is a significant break in. They feel really stiff to me.

Just put a set on last night and my goodness...the D and G felt so much different than my D and G plain gut. The felt quite a bit more stiff and well, less gut-like. Do these break in drastically? I already put my old strings back on and may sell the red diamonds depending on what I hear back...
