    That's also a fair point, having access to the lower part of the fingerboard is pretty important. Would there be major differences in tone and volume?

    Hey guys, thanks for the feedback! With help from my sister, it turns out I have a 145cm wingspan, so I'll try to look for a smaller 3/4 if a 5/8 isn't available. Thanks for the help guys!

    Hey folks, I'm looking to venture into the world of double bass, but I'm a short guy. I've seen a few posts about not getting a 1/2 size bass, but am unsure if that still applies due to my height. Should I opt for a 3/4 or a 1/2? Would a 5/8 be a good compromise?
