And that is true because I did hear them talking about wanting to make a more affordable Blackbird back then...is this before the Epiphone versions came out? The inlays are real inlaid iron crosses and look to be pearl...and they aren't all shoddy..they look right but someone mentioned they look...

Thanks so much guys! Since I was the one that got it on that tour, I didn't mention that everyday when I saw Nikki's bass vault open and ready, this bass was never in it. It was always stored in the case in a bigger road case with other backups or other crap. It def didn't mean anything special...
