    Left handed Tokai neck replacement

Hi all, Have a chance to pick up a Leftie 51 style Tokai p-bass pretty cheap and was thinking I’d maybe swap the neck out for something a little better. I’ve not done a lot of bass mods before so just have a question if anyone has done any similar experiences of this. Given the tokai...

ABM 600 Evo IV v GK Fusion 550

Hi all. Looking to upgrade my gig rig and am looking for a bit of advice from you good people. At the moment I’m looking at the following options: Brand new Ashdown ABM600 Evo IV (would pair this with my ABM 610 I currently own). or Second hand GK Fusion 550 which also comes with a 4-12 cab...

    210 combo

Hey all, Looking to change my practice set up from a head (ashdown abm) and cab (210) set to a 210 combo (just for ease of moving) with also the potential to use an extension cab (the existing 210) for gigs if needed. I’ve found a couple of second hand combos that look decent being: - Ashdown...

    Frankencab

Thanks for the advice everyone. I kinda thought this would be the case but thought it best to check with those more knowledgeable than myself. Think I’ll grab myself another 210. Although the guitar combo and HPF intrigues me. Assume the HPF is to stop from blowing the speakers? Thanks again...

    Frankencab

Have been toying with the idea of running two amps (ie dirty and clean) but logistics, costs etc has prevented this this far. However I have a chance to pick up a cheap 4x10 cab. Two of the speakers have been removed already (hence the cheap price). I have a 2x10 already so figured I could...

TMB Neck on a P-bass body

Just wondering if anyone has put a TMB neck on a p-bass body before? I’m a lefty and have recently acquired an old aria p-bass body and was thinking of using a TMB neck (upside down of course). The heel dimensions seem to match the neck pocket (around 60mm) and the screw configuration appears...

How to: Mod your DOD 250 for greater bass response (Pics inside)

Thanks guys. Here’s the guts, it was a yellow and from the price I paid probably a reissue. The yellow ring is the one I think I’m replacing it’s got 2A103C (or could be an E) on the side. Thanks for the advice!

How to: Mod your DOD 250 for greater bass response (Pics inside)

Old thread I know but looking at doing this mod as a first go. Any chance of posting the pictures again as the links seem to be broken, just want to make sure I’m removing the correct cap (the one labelled C3 on the board). Cheers.

BOSS DS1 for bass, yes or no?

Picked up a monteallums model ds-1 earlier this year. Run a clean and dirty line with an ls2 with the ds-1 stacked after a dod250 in the dirty line. Run the mids pretty high on my amp eq as well. Have a tried a fair few distortion/fuzz pedals but was never happy until I came to this set up...

    Arion MMP-1 mod for bass

Hey, Apologies if this has been done before but here we go. Have come by an old arion metal plus pedal and thought it’d be a good opportunity to make my first foray into pedal mods. Having read a few threads on similar sorts of pedals (ds-1 etc), I gather changing a couple of capacitors will...

    Stacking DOD250

Am liking the Carcosa. Gave it a go today At my local store and sounded pretty good on its own.

    Stacking DOD250

Hey all. Looking at stacking my DOD250 with a fuzz pedal of sorts. Currently running it with a Boss line selector pedal (mixing clean and dirty signals) and sounds pretty sweet but looking for a bit more dirt. Am thinking of a Carcosa or a Fuzz War or would a bog standard (and cheaper) DS-1 do...
