Double Bass Suzhou DB Tuning Machines - where to source?

I need new machines on my Kay. I saw that Shen installs individual Suzhou on their basses, and I saw all sorts of references to Suzhou on the forum here. I figured they were probably good enough for the Kay. But, I can’t seem to find anywhere on the internet that supplies these (or even that...

Squier Short Scale P bass and Jazz bass

Yes, mine. Five or six years ago I found it hanging in the wall of Canada’s version of local big box music store. Someone had brought it in on trade. I’ve never found any info on these models other than the serial dates it to 85/86.

    OMG! ... he's got a '65 Jazz also !!!

That happens. When I picked up my '63, the neck was worn smooth from 55 years of playing and was perfect. Immediately felt more right than any other J-Bass I've played. I got rid of a couple other J-Basses upon its acquisition. Was that instant connection that sometimes happens. There was a 65...

    OMG! ... he's got a '65 Jazz also !!!

It just had that pickup cover on it when I got it. The neck pickup was original, the bridge pickup was of unknown provenance. Sounded fine, but I pulled them and put in Fralin Split Jazz to manage the usual JB buzz. I liked the burgundy cover with the tort pickguard though, so kept it.

    SOLD Ibanez Roadstar II RB-924CS

A pretty fine specimen of a pretty great bass. First “good” bass I owned as a punk kid in the 80s. Perfectly playable, good setup, all original down to the weird V strap buttons, super silky TrueOiled neck. Hard shell case is old, nothing special. I can crate up the bass by itself or ship in...

1966 Fender P slab body belonging to John Entwistle @ Gruhn Guitars...

Yeah, I wasn’t certain you were doing that, so I made sure to hedge. Others in the thread above were taking issue with the price disparity though. Some had pointed out the 2003 price as well. Thanks for clarifying.
