Nice man, wish I had the cash. I'd be keen to run it up against my USA Lakands and Sadowskys.

Who makes the most stable neck in the business?

The best neck I've owned is still my early 2000s Lakland USA Bob Glaub, quarter sawn maple with graphite reinforcement bars and indian rosewood board. The neck has required very few adjustments over the years of touring from humid to dry conditions. I have owned or currently own Fender US...

    BEST BASS DISTORTION

I realise you're looking for a cheap option, but my faves are: Crowther Audio HOT CAKE (find one with an XLF switch - located inside) Okko BASSTARD (expensive, but think of it as two pedals) I own many others, but these two are my faves. I think the Hot Cake will get you into Lemmy territory.

    Synth bass...what is the recipe?

I've got synth pedals (Akai Deep Impact for one...) which don't get a look in these days. I dig the following: EBS Oct into Hot Cake (Crowther Audio) - the Hot Cake has been modified for extended low freq response. It has a gritty OD sound, as opposed to a sloppy fuzz and works well after the...

    Mono Plugs & tone

Hi all, I recently decided to test a two high end (Vovox and Klotz) instrument cable brands against my tried and true Canare and Planet Waves cable. The results were extremely revealing (in more ways than one) and I discovered (somewhat to my surprise) that cables are yet another ingredient...
