If anyone was wondering, I was asking because I got to try out a markbass tube 800 and really really liked it. I just don't feel like I need that much power and I would also like to spend less.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, which model had more warmth? I'm assuming the 1001, but I don't like to make assumptions.

Actually, it seems like a lot do. In particular I was lookin at the markbass hybrid offerings. Carvin and genz benz seem to be doing the same thing.

Gosh, I wish I had someplace to go to try out all this stuff. The streamliner sounds perfect for me, and I've seen good deals on used ones. I think if I can find a used one that's cheaper than the Markbass, I'll get it. I haven't seen many of the Markbass tubes used up for sale.

I think I've made my decision. I happened to be in town today so I stopped by Guitar Center and tried a few things out. I was able to get the exact tone I was looking for out of a Markbass LM Tube 800. Got a nice warm grit with enough clarity for chords and melodic lines to sing pretty well. I...

Thanks bros. I will check all this stuff out. I'll certainly try to find out more on the Streamliner and I'll check out the VT Pedal.

Also, did the tubetone sound "natural"? I've seen youtube vids but could never get a feel for if it really sounded like a natural tube amp would.
