My first bass was '92 MIM J bass. $250 off of eBay. Just recently installed nordstrand NJ4's. It's a very nice bass and I plan on keeping it.:)

I'd crank up some AC/DC Hells Bells or Thunderstruck. Learn some of that groove and shove it right up the drummers kick drum. But that's just me.

Sounds to me like the drummer is in take charge mode, as if it is totally up to him to drive the bus, so to speak. I'd turn up the bottom end and grab a pick and camp out on that kick, kinda of a " here I am mofo" deal with it type groove. But I'd know the material as well as I could.

Just bought a '95 MIM P bass. $299. I bought it because I enjoy modding. If it turns out anything like my '92 MIM J bass, I will have a super nice bass. not much resale though.:cool:

Becoming a good bass player may not necessarily mean staying with that band. play for you, not someone else. Lots of good advice here to work with. You've got to keep the faith bro'. Keep believing in yourself.
