Until we stop playing , then everybody notices. I started playing guitar about 15 years ago and I found out I wasn't that good but it made me a much better bass player. And I also learned that the bass is the most important instrument on stage. The guitar can drop out, no big deal, keyboardist...

It's something I do strictly for me and have been for 47 years. If the audience likes it or if I get paid that's good too.

I've played in the same 4 piece rhythm section for 43 years. Sometimes the band had 5 members sometimes it had 15 but it was always the same rhythm section.
