I've checked the neck with a straightedge resting on the 7th & 8th frets. There is slightly more than a 1/4 inch of space showing at both ends of the fretboard. I'd like to keep the original neck if possible. Hoping for an easy solution, but I'll probably remove the neck and try to straighten it...

What I meant was; reverse wound pickups, one for the bridge and one for the neck, to be placed physically in line (one behind the other), not in line electrically.

What I'm asking is, should the reverse wound neck pickup be placed in line with the reverse wound bridge pickup, or doesn't it matter ?

Should have described the pickups as single coil units with 4 magnets in each pickup.

Have a strange bass that has staggered 4 pole pickups in both the neck and bridge positions (similar to a B.C. Rich Eagle). Appears to have separate volume pots for each pair of pickups, and one master tone pot. Also a 3-way switch that looks like it's wired to use each set of pickups...
