    2017 Gibson EB redesign

I have very mixed feelings about this bass. Appearance aside (either like it or hate it) it offers some very attractive features -- swamp ash body, Grover tuners, twin humbuckers, etc. at an attractive price for a US made bass. However, has anyone seen a video review, sound clip, or professional...

    Gibson making basses again

OK, guess I'll have to reconsider my earlier criticism. Still prefer the EB13/14 design, but it offers the same tonal versatility and is quite a bargain. Definitely worth a look?

You don't have to be a Fender fanboy to note valid problems in their bass designs, marketing, corporate leadership, or quality control. Feedback I've heard from owners of the previous EB model have been very favorable. (Shame it only had a 2 year run). And for those who are more traditionalist...

    Gibson making basses again

It's frustrating that Gibson apparently has given up on Tbirds, SGs, and Les Paul basses to put out a redesigned EB, with similar price but less features than the previous EB. It may turn out to be an OK bass, but honestly, was it worth it to stop bass production for a year and offer this? Maybe...

    Gibson making basses again

Well, it seems to offer a lot at this price point, but after a year of no basses, I'm leary about this new offering. Style-wise, many people disliked the previous EB's looks, but it had good pickups and a coil tap, so pretty versatile, it would seem. New model doesn' t offer this. Also, Gibson...

    2017 Gibson EB redesign

Hey, no hate for Gibson basses here. I've got a sweet 2013 sunburst Midtown Standard that I love. Just not too jazzed about the looks of this new EB and would hope they continue the Tbirds and SGs. Meantime, let's wait and see how the new EB plays and sounds.

    2017 Gibson EB redesign

I have no problem with Fender rolling out P and J basses, they're standards and rightly so. Gibson isn't going to challenge their market dominance, but can offer a choice, just like other competitors. I hope this model is successful but just feel they should be less generic in the design.

    2017 Gibson EB redesign

Yeah, I have to agree there doesn't appear to be anything groundbreaking here. On the plus side though, it offers a lot at this price point -- an entry level Gibson. Also, maybe we should be patient until the full Gibson USA line for 2017 is released. Maybe the SG and Tbirds will be back. Have...
