    They feel awful, and the guitar or bass they were connected to usually weighed a ton. Travis Bean necks had VERY flat radiuses on the fingerboards, which feels terrible. So it was partly the neck, partly the bass......

    The frets need a nice crown to intonate properly. When the fret is round, the string touches it in one geometric point in the center of the fret. When the fret is flat (particularly a wide fret) the point of intonation becomes less precise. For that reason, good frets are important for purposes...

    Cleaning bass finish

    Do NOT use guitar polish. They are all crap. Use a product designed for cars. McGuire's auto cleaner/polish is outstanding for cleaning guitars.

    HELP!!! My nut is buzzing!

    If you are getting buzz on the open string AND it's popping out of the slot, it likely means you have insufficient downward string angle after it passes through the nut. Is there a string retainer for the G string, like a Fender has?

    The issue could just as easily be a LOW fret. A single high fret is easily dealt with, a single LOW fret is a little more work to deal with properly.
