    SOLD 1999 Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo

Player grade Ric 4003. Works perfectly and plays great. Sounds awesome. Lots of gig wear. Missing thumb wheels for mute and bridge pickup cover. One replaced knob. Case protects the bass well, but is also gig worn with missing feet and scratches, but all latches/hinges work. Set up with EB...

SOLD 2013 Fender American Vintage 58 Precision AVRI Res-O-Lite

2013 AVRI 58 in Black Nitro. Cosmetically it's been played and gigged. It has some scuffs and play wear. A little worming and a small ding on the back. The forearm contour is getting kind of matte instead of gloss. It plays fantastically, sounds great, and everything works as it should...

Lightweight Tuners for 70s Fender Bass?

I can see the merits of the plan. Here's where i admit I gigged it last night with just the two screws in each tuner. :)

Lightweight Tuners for 70s Fender Bass?

BTW...the pictured Nate Mendel P-Bass weighed just shy of 8lbs when it came to me. With the GBR-640s, vintage bent metal bridge, and aluminum knobs it weighs 7lbs 4oz and still rings like a bell. I'm kind of in love.

Lightweight Tuners for 70s Fender Bass?

It covers all 4 holes in both the "crooked" configuration i have them in now or properly aligned:

Lightweight Tuners for 70s Fender Bass?

The two screw holes that line up put the tuners kind of crooked...I could live with that since they are pretty "uniformly" crooked. However the two holes I would need to add are very close to the existing holes so I'm concerned there might not be enough thickness there and the screws would...

Lightweight Tuners for 70s Fender Bass?

Thanks...I did see those, but assumed they were the same weight. Research indicates they are in fact a bit lighter than the Fender tuners. I have a set of GBR640 Re-O-lites on there right now, but only two screw holes line up. Now that I know how light it CAN be with them and how nicely it...

Lightweight Tuners for 70s Fender Bass?

I have a bass with essentially these tuners: Invalid Link Removed I'm so far unable to locate a light weight drop in replacement. I just wanted to verify that this is the case and I'm not overlooking something? If i have to dowel and re-drill for Gotoh Res-O-Lites then I will, but I'd prefer...

PSA: You don't have to pull the neck to adjust a vintage Fender truss rod

I've no doubt there are exceptions based on the number of notched out pickguards I've seen over the years, but I haven't encountered one yet. Maybe I happen to have just the right screwdriver.

PSA: You don't have to pull the neck to adjust a vintage Fender truss rod

In the course of catching up on the basses forum I see this mentioned at least once in every thread about vintage style Fender basses. I just wanted to point out for the record that I have never ONCE had to pull the neck or even loosen the neck bolts to adjust the truss rod on a vintage style...
