I scooped up a Mighty Power (white) from Thomann today. Now I just need to wait for arrival. Though it's not a bucket list bass (for that it would need to be a standard precision configuration in the neck and a reverse P at the bridge), this is pretty close in concept.

I'm getting the following error when attempting to post a WTB ad. "Item Location: API keys with referer restrictions cannot be used with this API." Changing the location to something else doesn't remedy the issue. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

This is one of those brands where I recall seeing them regularly in magazines back in the 80s and 90s but I was only dimly aware they were still around in the 2020s. That probably sums up part of why they declared bankruptcy.

It depends on the outcome. The Stranglers' version of "Walk On By" is a million miles from the Dionne Warwick one, with that hyper-clanky bass tone from JJ Burnel. Totally works in the context of the band. That bass tone on the Warwick version though? Yeah but no.

I own five basses and they all either sonically or ergonomically do something different (Jazz pickups, Precision pickups, dual humbuckers with active electronics, fretless neck, five-string, etc). I wouldn't buy a sixth bass unless it gave me something those don't or improves upon the feature...

Thank you, that is helpful. Like you I don't mind reaming holes slightly (or in my case even leaving out one or two screws if they're egregiously off). There just seem to be a lot of caveats from sites that sell them about fitment accuracy along the lines of "fits X but not if Y or Z".

Done right, CNC can massively cut down on waste and offcuts, especially if you nest items in ways that would be difficult to cut in an accurate and error-free manner. That's never a bad thing.

For the life of me I cannot understand what all the grousing is about. I'm no fan of change for its own sake, but that wasn't the impetus behind the site update and frankly I'm finding everything I need with minimal fuss.

A little back of the napkin math: The current minimum wage in the UK is £10.42. Assuming Letts is in the 20% marginal tax bracket this works out to around £8.33 per hour. Working a single two-and-a-half hour shift per week would net £20.83 per shift. After 52 weeks he'd have £1,083.16...
