Trying to fix a front bowed graphite neck

Thx for the info, but I give up on this. I've got more interesting things to do anyway, like two new bass builds that are about ready for some finishing...

Trying to fix a front bowed graphite neck

Allright, so I guess its time for a update, and final conclusions on this. I've now had the neck clamped for about 3 weeks. When I started, there was a 2,5mm gap between the 10th fret and my straightedge. 2weeks later I got the gap down to 0,7mm, tried to clamp it a week more, however it...

Trying to fix a front bowed graphite neck

Well, its not a question of "does it have a trussrod" anymore. It's obvious that it hasn't. The question NOW, is "is it fixable". Don't know the exact model, but its got 5-strings (very narrow spacing), wooden body, plastic pickguard, two EMG HB pickups, active electronics and a foldable "leg...

Trying to fix a front bowed graphite neck

I removed the aluminum "head piece" (the aluminum piece that hold the strings in place at the "head") in hope that there would be something lurking underneath, but no such luck :( Nothing at the base either.

Thanks for the info. English is my third language so sometimes I get a bit confused how to spell things :)

Trying to fix a front bowed graphite neck

Hello folks :) So, I got this Steinberg 5-string bass with a graphite neck, that belongs to my brother-in-law (is that how you write "Brother in law"?) It has got a terrible high action in the middle of the neck due to its terrible front-bow in the neck. The neck doesn't seem to have a truss...

    DIY Stingray 3EQ Preamp

Well... I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the distortion/fuzz is gone. The bad news is that there's no signal whatsoever anymore, the preamp is dead! Oh the "joy" of doing DIY stuff... :) Anyway, what you guys think about handling IC-chips? I mean how sensitive...

    Turning a Harley benton PB-Shorty into a JB-Shorty.

Nice! I did something similar to one of those too... Added a J pickup, drilled a new output jack, made it Master volume - Balance - Tone, made the strings go through-body, and a complete new paintjob on the body. Very nice and easy to play these short scale basses. :)

    DIY Stingray 3EQ Preamp

Ok, so I found one problem... R2, the 560k in the input stage was not 560k, only 150k. My bad! :) No wonder the bias voltage was way off. However, that DID NOT solve the major distortion/fuzz problem. Any ideas?

    DIY Stingray 3EQ Preamp

Hi guys. I just got this circuit soldered together on a perfboard. Well, it works... kind of... as a major fuzz! I checked the bias voltage and it reads only 2,1V. Is that right? Shouldn't i be half the Vcc (9V), 4,5V? Cheers, "Bobby"
