Do they not offer it at all? In the build form there is an option for custom finish with a text box, I would have assumed that's there for exactly people wanting something they don't do often, like oil or a relic job or something like that

I do have the rounds on a fretless currently, and I do agree they're great on a fretless. I love them enough that I'm putting them on a second one, and wondered if the flats would be some variety, but considering the price I want to make sure they still have that fantastic feel like the rounds do.

I see previously in the thread, they they changed the low B to a .108? Is that on both flats and rounds or only flats? The page for rounds still says .120. If they've changed the rounds to .108 then I'll probably switch to TIs, as that seems too low guage even for a low tension set.

Have you tried the Ying Yang with PJs? Don't believe it's wired in serial but it had plenty of aggression when I tried one, EMGs tend to be pretty aggressive sounding pickups and the trickfish preamp is versatile enough to push them further into that direction if you want it to.

I'm surprised as a metal player you're not using more chromatic runs, they tend to be a huge staple of metal bass playing, especially in thrash and death stuff. Look at Steve DiGorgio and Cliff Burton's playing for example.
