    Ibanez Promethean

27 lbs. detachable head, has anyone tried one or better yet reviewed one. I'm looking to lighten my load. I heard the tone was on the modern thumb slab style side, which really isn't the way I play. I'm a little more vintage. Any thoughts?

    Which lightweight combo?

Thanks for all your replies, I'm considering your ideas. I did a quick search in the reviews section, but wasn't able to find anything on the Ibanez Promethean. It's supposed to have a lot of umph and only weighs like 28 lbs. Anybody have an opinion? My local music store doesn't have it in...

    Partial finger loss at work.

I'd make sure your attorney emphasizes your music career as a lifetime passion and a very integral part of your life. Don't let the workman's compensation attorney's focus only on the school job. Your injury will likely not hamper your educational duties all that much. That's what they will...

    Partial finger loss at work.

That has to be miserable, Grady. Sorry to hear it. Chin up though, Jerry Garcia (grateful dead) managed to play some pretty fine licks, missing a digit or two...pedal steel guitar as well.

    Which lightweight combo?

Country rock, Eagles, Flying Burrito Bros, Jerry Jeff Walker. classic country and country swing. Average venue 100 people, resort club house settings.

    Which lightweight combo?

I'm sure this topic has been discussed ad nauseum, but I'm not really good at searching this site. I have a BAD back, and a Peavey BAM which sounds great, but at 95 lbs., the combination is killing me. I'm looking for suggestions for a lightweight combo with decent volume and great tone. I...

    another beard thread

I vote for trimming it up along the cheek line and just under the chin. If you don't you'll just look homeless.

    The Beatles...really?

This may have made the rounds here, but the Fab Faux really did a good job with side two of Abbey Road. Will Lee on a Ricky. http://vimeo.com/11237479

ciggy burn on Fender headstock..can it be sanded/buffed out?

Unless I missed something in translation, it sounds to me like he's decided to leave it. Good decision. It's cool...and I'm not even a smoker. I'm not sure mojo or even horse dung has has magical powers, but I'd leave the existing cigarette burn rather than goof up the finish, trying to wipe...

Leave it. It'll be a good story someday.

    Who Plays Other Instruments?

Ha, I played the Tuba in school, too. I also play pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar, Hawaiian Weissenborn guitar, dobro, acoustic guitar, piano (a little) but primarily electric bass guitar. I'd probably be awesome, had I just stuck with one instrument, ;)

    The Beatles...really?

I've always loved the Beatles, probably the most prolific group of songwriters in history. In discussions on the topic, I usually ask if you can quickly, name all the members in the Rolling Stones, the Who, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, or whatever band that comes to mind...now name all the Beatles.

    Should We Refinance?

Steve, reading your circumstance was like looking in a mirror. 11 years to go vs. starting over with 30 more. You've been paying for 19 years...you realize that's 49 years, right? I decided to hang tough with the higher payment and be done in 11. There's always the arguement that you can pay...

    I only play bass

Pedal steel or lap steel guitar. There are so many varied tunings. It's a whole new world and it'll help with you ear for intonation. You can find one in most any price range.
