Agreed. Try every adjustment w/ the bass and treble that you can. I hated mine at first but found that it cuts through without being unruly if you try enough. Tone is in the hands.

Had one of those and liked it unless I ran a standard tuned 5 string through it. But with a 4 it was pretty nice. Guess an HP filter would come in handy. Just sayin'.

I do know that three 16 ohm cabs would net a parallel load of 5.5 ohms approximately so the bam could handle that but I wouldn't push anything under 4 ohms with it. You got lucky. Just stick to 2 cabs maybe for now,......

Go with the PB-1! Trust me. They are almost bullet proof and can get pretty much any sound you want. Gotta be tweaked a bit eq wise but they don't lie.

I would venture to say no. Yamaha is very proprietary.
