Ozzy - The Ultimate Sin for me, it is the last good Ozzy album, and I think that is forgotten about. Side 2 (showing my age....) is killer all the way through.

I play in a hardcore punk/crossover thrash band, and even though most of our shows would be what many on here would call "informal", there is still a level of professionalism you have to have to assure that the crowd, bar, fellow band mates, other bands etc. take you seriously and respect what...

the key is to NOT be "Met Nazi's". Live, we never sweat what the tempo is at. As long as it feels good, there is no fighting about what number it is. I think people get too wrapped up in that element...especially players who don't know or have much else they can say, but want to sound like they...

This thread has made me think of a couple of otehr things: I feel like I see more rosewood than maple in my recollection, and I always remember people sayign that maple necks play "faster" (?) than rosewood. I have never felt a difference in my ability to play fast from neck to neck. Thoughts?

I prefer maple all the time.... that being said, 3 of my 4 basses have rosewood boards b/c other things about them were more important and I got one of the basses as a gift (my Fender 92 AVRI 62 Jazz), so I was not going to turn that away....

this is pretty much me as well. I don't feel like i fully understand 4 strings yet. Some might say that is weird, but it is where I am at!!!! I would try an 8 string (since it is really just an enhanced 4) if I could find one that felt right. Usually the necks are too big for my liking
