    The Sunns of SunnO)))…

Really cool video, I love hearing knowledgable people passionately nerd out about stuff like this. I also love Sunn O))) so hearing the stories and differences between these amps is really cool. I would've loved the chance to hear them all individually but this would be a long video if they...

    Aluminum Neck Club

It’s not titanium but the Obstructures Model 34 actually has a semi-hollow neck with a bolt-on fretboard. Here are some pictures where you can see the construction detail, which is pretty divisive aesthetically but I think quite clever. Id love to know in particular how thick the neck walls need...

PSA, If you're looking for an EASY painted finish... ;)

I like the look of that finish, good stuff. Millimetric Instruments also does a lot of their finishes using milk paint, and I think it suits their designs really well, as well as being pretty environmentally friendly.

    Bill Nash Basses Owner's Club

Definitely a very personal choice but I would encourage you to decide on the feel you'd like and purchase strings for that, rather than sound. I tend to like fairly low tension and I'm used to it since I play exclusively in DGCF tuning. Labella flats are probably the most trad choice in feel...

    A couple of Dingwall Z-3’s

Awesome bass indeed and I'm sorry for the threadjack here, but hold on a sec - Let's talk about that wall of Serge! That is an insane synth setup you have, got any recordings and info to share about that colossus!?

New compressor by Chase Bliss - Clean

Yeah, the more I look at this pedal the feature density becomes more and more desirable. I will use this pedal at least at much with experimental-ambient-focused modular synth and guitar as with my bass, so all the esoteric stuff it does is of great interest. All of them really, as I will use...

New compressor by Chase Bliss - Clean

So I'm considering buying a Clean after getting a little bit of buyers remorse with the Cali76 bass I just bought. That pedal is awesome, everything people say it is, but I keep thinking now that for essentially the same price the Clean is a far better value. I also have a dual use pedalboard...

In need of dopamine. Show us your #1 bass.

This is my current gig rig with my number one bass right now, a 1989 Greco TB-75. Initially it started life with a black finish, but was restored, refinished in this nice metallic copper/pink, and subtly reliced by a talented Polish luthier in early 2024. This was not really my #1 bass when I...

What's coming and going XVIII: (We Don't Need) Rehab

Coming: Cali76 bass I've been a big proponent of the Fairfield Accountant, having used one as my sole compressor for nearly six years now, but at long last, I am finally running up against a few limitations of that angry little beast. I now find myself wanting a slightly more versatile option...

New - Fender American Professional Classic Series

Major thank you for actually following up and doing a thorough comparison!

How do you use your dirt pedals?

Totally agree on these, it is surprising how much drive and saturation can be hidden on a bass tone before it becomes obvious distortion. So yeah, I have dirt pedals that I use as a light saturator and secondary compression stage, and then others that are less subtle. Stacking dirt pedals is a...

Greco 1977 Thunderbird vs Recent Gibson Thunderbird ?

Here's a good video of how the Grecos generally sound, mine sounds particularly similar to the white one:

Greco 1977 Thunderbird vs Recent Gibson Thunderbird ?

Greco all day for me! Early this year I picked up a killer late 80's Greco TB-75. I've played several other Greco TBs before and they were all very high quality - if I'd had the budget at the time I definitely would've purchased one long before now. Which Epiphone model do you have currently? I...

New - Fender American Professional Classic Series

if you do end up getting one I'd be curious to hear the differences between these two, particularly the difference in the neck profiles. I loved the neck on the JMJ I had, which I stupidly sold and now miss

I'm not a big fan of bass overdrive... but I dig this!!

It’s hard to be 100% correct when blindly guessing, but that sounds very RAT-like to me - I know I can get very near that tone with my Tremond
