My plan is to do this for my church gig, and my country gig... less to lug..

that's it.. plus IEM's for the country gig
I believe it'll be fantastic

Funny thing, after just saying that I was using the new MM 1000 on all gigs I decided to just go with the Carvin BX500 last night since the room only holds less than 100 people. Boy was that a mistake, the last set turned from blues rock into high power Zep, Nugent, Sabbath nonstop to the end. I really missed the slam of the MM. Won't make that mistake the rest of the weekend.

Friday night I used the stuff in my signature, but it does sound fine.
I'm learning that I want to hear what people hear from the FOH, so I set my amp for a flat, clean sound & then just EQ for each song from my bass guitar.
Works like a charm if you have a decent amp & a decent PA which we do!

The Escalators (mostly blues) played a smallish strip mall bar/restaurant Friday night. We tune down a half step. Here's what I used for that, with the XLS1500 running bridged mono into the F210.

My basic settings were as shown, except I ran the level a few ticks lower than shown. On the Stingray, volume at the midpoint, hi and lo a bit above their midpoints.

How about my cool stands? Folding plastic footstools, 300# capacity, $10 each from Walmart. Here's a photo of the clamp I made to be sure the two under the rack stayed together:

Then Saturday night we played a microbrewery in a large steel building. Since I wanted to use the F210 as a dedicated speaker for the kick drum, here's what I played through:

That's an EV S15-3 PA cab from the early 80's, rated 100W continuous. I sat it on top of one of the footstools. I have a cover over one of the two ports to lower the box frequency so I don't have to worry about Xmax getting out of hand; and I modified it for bi-amping, with direct access to the (original) EVM15-L for the lows. I configure the XLS1500 in crossover mode, at 630hz (OEM passive crossover frequency is 600hz in the box). Note the rack settings. I have the XLS1500 gains all the way up, Level on the RBI at halfway. Stingray knobs same as Friday's. The only difference between the setups is that with the S15-3 I have to tun up the Bass EQ on the RBI 90 degrees more than with the F210, and then I get virtually the same sound out of these two cabinets. If I need more smooth for a song (ex: Rainy Night in Georgia, The Thrill is Gone), I max the lo knob on the Stingray, which kills the treble, and turn the Blend knob on the RBI a few ticks clockwise. For more growl, all I do is turn the Blend knob a few ticks counterclockwise.

We shot video and HQ audio at the Saturday gig, and I plan to put some of that up, in another thread, when I get it.

Our gig last week was outdoors. Venue provided sound so no IEMs (you sure miss them when they're gone!)
I used my Ampeg SVT3Pro & 410HLF. Line 6 wireless.


Next weekend - back to IEMs along with the Ampeg 210v2 combo.

Promoter finally got back to us with the details about their backline less than 24 hours before we were supposed to hit the stage! :facepalm: At this point I'd already decided to bring my own rig, and since what they were offering seemed suspect -- a Fender Bassman 50 head with a Fender Bandmaster 2x12" guitar cabinet?!?! -- I was glad I planned ahead. Wound up using one Eden D115 instead of the Flite Sound cab, but that Eden along with the Acoustic Image Focus 2 head is a killer combination. Got lots of compliments on the sound of my bass from the violinist (who I'd never performed with before) and the drummer (who I've done dozens of gigs with).

Outdoor car show this morning! The Bergantino HG310 absolutely killed. I did get some necessary FOH support, but the stage tone was glorious. :) As always, used my Reiner Amplification Studio 1200 amp head. Also played my locally built P5 (the blond/gold one), and kicked in my Grizzly Bass for warmth.

I have 2 gigs this weekend.

First up is a DUO at a small Irish Pub/Restaurant. My old stand by Fender Rumble 500 combo will fit the bill perfectly. It fills the room effortlessly, and has such a nice small footprint, and easy setup.

Second is a private party where I may take out my Genzler MG800 and pair it with a Fender Rumble 210 cab. This rig really sings and can fill a large room with out much effort.

Basses? I will take my #1 Sire V7 5 pictured to your left, and maybe break out my recently acquired Lakland 55-01 as well.
