Thanks again for the tip. The Seymour Duncan Cool Rails work great. Now I need to get the other 2 ! But for now the sound is great and well balanced :) It's still a bit a of a work in progress. The original bridge is so annoying to adjust and intonate.. it drives me insane !!! So, I decided to take bridge from a hofner beat bass and transform it into a 5 string bridge. It's not very beautiful but it gets the job done :)

I'm pleased to know. :) That was fast!
I think SD guitar double-coils come prewired parallel so, if you haven't already, consider experimenting with internal series wiring (and possibly making it switchable - I mean, the VI got that array of switches already...): you might like them better in series, even if just in one or two of the three positions.
As for the looks of the modified instrument, I don't see anything in the pics that I don't like. Even the Hoffie floating bridge works visually.
