Solid. One board, 2 piece.
Those pics are the dry board. The grain is lovely. Looks color wise, dark chocolate swirled in chocolate milk.
I'm doing the body machining , shaping. Finish and assembly by @StereoPlayer .
Looking forward to seeing the neck he has on order.

Sweet! I don't believe that I have ever played a walnut bass, but I have read good things. It is definitely a lovely wood. Some nice chocolate in your slab of choice, for sure.

One of my favorite basses is walnut (Warwick Thumb). Looks like this is gonna be stunning!
The body of my main bass was labeled from Schecter as “Satin Walnut”. Not very walnutty though.Sweet! I don't believe that I have ever played a walnut bass, but I have read good things. It is definitely a lovely wood. Some nice chocolate in your slab of choice, for sure.
This new build might very well become my “main” bass!

It'll be a bit before completion , have several irons in the fire, and setting up the shop will absorb time. I'm super excited to work on this though . It will look be- you- tea- ful and for a fretless this wood combination should be very expressive and lively. Sustain should be no issueI'm just super glad it worked out for you so quickly!

Walnut is probably my favorite wood.
It’d be interesting to have a 100% walnut bass: body, neck, and fretboard.

The board is big enough. I can likely get 2 more bodies and 2 necks with asundry left overs for lams, fretboards, accent pieces etc. Very tempting to do a full single species , single board bass out of it.
