Props for reusing the holes.Thumbrest, made my own, looks ugly but works, till I can get something better. No new holes in bass so that was good, used pickup ring screws to mount.

Yep good Idea, will look for some that size, just used some screws I had around that fit the original holesProps for reusing the holes.
I'd suggest flathead screws so that they're flush.
I look forward to the resultsI'm actually going to be modding mine with some passive EMGs with a special twist. Will have a video on that coming![]()
I am curious what you do, did a little research, the EMG Thunderbird pickups spec out a little bigger than the Embassy pickups. The EMG 35HZ pickups are the same size, playing with that ideaI'm actually going to be modding mine with some passive EMGs with a special twist. Will have a video on that coming![]()

Rewiring with VVT and the pio cap did it for me, a lot more versatileI have a Gibson T-Bird, so it's easy to get hooked on 'that' tone. I have the new Embassy and aspired to mimic the T-Bird. I tried series pickup wiring but didn't care for the tone. The Blend pot went partially bad (one half of the rotation stopped working) - it was a cheap component. I opted for a 3 way toggle switch, mounted in the Blend pot position and I installed a set of D'Addario tape wound strings.
I'm happy with the tuning stability. It will never be a T-Bird, so I'm done with any other mods (even PUPs) in a quest to make sound like a 'Bird. Oh, and people love the red colour.
Dressed it up a bit. Painted the Thumbrest in spray on plastic, added Block Fretboard inlays. and put on Ernie Ball Cobalt flats.
