Over my years gigging I have had the pleasure to be able to afford to buy the gear I wanted to use on stage. Some of those great Amps included Early peavey, SVT, Many Mesa Boogie (400+, Titan, Carbide, Strategy) Orange, Many Markbass (Little mark II, Rocker 500, TT500, Little Tube 800, Combos too). I was always questing for the warm punchy sound with good bass response down low especially when I started using 5 string active basses as my main weapon (FBASS BN5 and Deluxe by choice). Allot of those amps paired with the right cabinet got me there but then I discovered the Exponent 500, not only can you tinker with a bunch of different preamps until you reach your bass sound nirvana you can add drives, effects cab sims too. Now I play a ton of different covers with a wide array of bands from Muse, Motorhead, ZZ Top, Rage against the machine and just plain blues and rock and with 5 presets I can cruse through the gammit of sounds without a pedal board. And my back likes the 4 pound amp head too. If your looking for that kind of feature then this unit is the bomb. It has a few things that are strange, the faceplate knob layout is not logical too me, I can never just quickly know which EQ pot is which and I wish it had two speaker jacks. I am using it with Darkglasses DG410 Neo cabinet which absolutely rips and is light and durable.
