Overall a great bass. Craftsmanship excellent, good fretwork, neck is very stable. The sound quality is great for live and recording. I like the Alnico P style pickups, they have a passive output of about 11.4 ohms. And the bridge J style Ceramic has an output of about 10.7 ohms. Blended they sound good, and not much else in tone variation. Just P or J or both. And a master volume and master tone.
The BB series have been around over 3 decades, and they are not well known. I've never had the chance to play one in a store, and never saw one used for sale. I suspect if these basses were more available to the public, they would sell more.
The BB424x an BB1024x are crafted in Indonesia. The BB2024x is made in Japan.
EDIT: The switch problem was caused by some wood shavings in the control cavity. I removed them and no more switch problems.
