Ditto on the adapter.... Several possibilites. First, the employee didn't know anything about the Lightwave and assumed that it needed to be plugged in to work and had no knowledge of the internal battery. Easy way to tell.... since it has been plugged in to play it might have enough charge...

Joe... I had an Ashbory, and I will say without a doubt the Lightwave with the TI Jazz Flats is more authentic upright sound. But there is alway room to grow and experiment.... And NO two uprights sound the same either... for example, Eddie Gomez has a LOT of mid range growl that is downright...

My TBC Lightwave..... I have yet to hear an electric sound as much like an upright..... In fact NO electric will sound like an upright unplugged, but once the pick up goes on it then all bets are off. And this TBC sounds like an upright with a pickup.... It is the last Lightwave that Jack...

I have 2 4B's and a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. 300 watts into 8 ohms, 600 into 4..... The ONLY place I needed to use any other cabs was at an outside gig in a blues band that I did not go through a PA. Just throwing it out there that the Shuttle is a great LITTLE amp that I throw in my gig bag with...

The general thought for me is the more you need "tone" beyond 200 hz the more you will appreciate PJB gear. I equate the small driver "quickness" and the fact that a small driver radiates higher frequencies better than a larger driver perfect for the nuances that a fretless can demand. Low...

Now that is an AMAZING response. What is cool about that response is that it isn't just a bunch of drivel; Phil has an honest desire to help users understand what is going on. There never seems to be an attitude that he is too busy or beneath him to offer an explanation. Just a great guy all around.

From what I understand, port location has nothing to do with any coupling issue, so I don't think that flipping s 9B would do anything. A port is there to couple the driver's characteristics with the cabinet to help extend the low end response. In other words, the port is not an "amplifying...

I guess it all depends on what kind of music you are playing. I will say that in a small room I really don't think you would need anything else. It will get boomy.... I will say that I used to play in a blues band that did get pretty loud. We did play in what I would consider a noisy medium...

Yes indeed. There are guys that use the TI bronze strings. I have even though about trying to find a pure gut string with the proper gauge/tension, but those would be some $$$$ strings. So far the TI flat do it for me. I tried LaBella flats, tapewounds, DR flats and they just did not do it for me.
