I can imagine. I see some pretty neat specimens on the internet with much nicer color, more like the burgundy you have. The SR500 is a 2015 model, so yeah, much newer.

You say it might not even be mahogany? I couldn't say, but the specs say the SR500 has a mahogany body. But staining the light body with this dark inferior finish is horrible. When searching pictures on the internet the finish looks rather nice, but mine looks flaky, yugh.

Hi people, In an attempt to upgrade the electronics of my Peavey Grind I soon ran into a problem. Can't take the pickups out of the body... :-/ There are two humbuckers, with 4 screws each. I took out the screws but it didn't seem to loosen anything. It feels like they're glued down in the body...

I checked some Google pics of the blue sapphire body. This looks more like an opaque stain. The finish on the Mahogany Brown is more like laquer in such a thin layer it doesn't seem to fill all the grains. I'd rather have the blue sapphire but 2nd hand dont give that much options... ;-)
