Trade my 2016 Ibanez SR500 for a 2007 Ibanez SR900?

Hi people,

It's been only weeks ago when I bought an used2016 SR500 (Mahogany Brown; on TB known as turd brown ;-)). But now I see this used 2007 SR900 neck-thru beauty. I have a thing for these neck-thru basses (in the past I already gave in for a Peavey Grind NTB and a Washburn Taurus T24).

Can anyone help me make up my mind if this would be a good trade?
I already put my Peavey Grind up for sale...

I bought the SR500 for €350 (approx. $425); about half of the cost of a new one. The SR900 is for sale for about €400 (approx. $485).

Please, share your thoughts on this if you want....

Hi. If you're still really digging for opinions, I'll share mine.

First of all I own a SR905, but not a 500. Second, Ibanez basses get better as the higher model they are. However specs say 500 and 900 have the same/similar make pickups and active EQ. The only difference seems to be wood combinations and neck-thru. Neck-thru sustains A LOT. Although I can't compare with SR500, you will definitely get sustain. Another thing, MK-1's on SR900 growl. Maybe it's a combination of wood and pickups together. I don't know about SR500 though. So if you're after growl, you'll get it too.

If they are the same price I would go for the higher model, because they are the last step before Premium series.
