I am doing some home recording using a Sansamp Bass DI and a Tascom Portastudio. When using the XLR output connected to a 1/4 input of the Portastudio (no phantom power in the chain), should the ground switch be "engaged" or "lifted" ? Thanks

Can anyone recomend a good bass boost pedal. My band are working on a couple of songs where certain parts need to be louder than the rest of the song, but not distorted, so i thought a simple bass boost pedal may do the job but i am not sure what is out there.
