    J-Bass sound from a Soapbar

    I've got a good older Tobias Basic 4 with Bartolini soapbars. I'm looking for a J-Bass sound and wanted to hear some opinions on pickups that fit into a soapbar slot that deliver more of a classic 60's J-bass sound. Any thoughts are much appreciated!!! Jassman :bassist:

    $4000 jazz/funk rig

    Lucky me, I just came into about $4000 and want to get a new bass amp/cabinet or combo. I'm a jazz/funk player with two Mike Lull custom J-basses, fretted and fretless. I'd love to hear some opinions about favorite amps and WHY. What are your thoughts on great amps such as Thunderfunk...
