I'm starting to hate my bass

Have any of you went through a situation where circumstances render you with only 1 bass, which you grow to hate the more you play it? I've forced myself into thinking that this (violin) bass' shorter scale and 14mm string spacing are beneficial to easier playing but I've grown to hate how it...

Anyone here ever exclusively use the bridge pup on their violin basses?

Or anyone who uses hofner basses for genres you wouldn't expect it to be used in. I've only got a violin bass at the moment and it would be nice to hear what you guys can do with yours. Besides, everything on youtube demos them with beatles tunes, for good reason of course, but still.

Will this thing feedback in this day and age?

Will it feedback at loud volumes? It has a block of wood under the bridge, though I'm guessing it's more in line with structural integrity than it is for cutting feedback.

The violin bass copy I'm playing right now just got flatwounds, and I don't like it

It had roundwounds but the E string broke. I had no say in the choice of strings since I don't own it anyway but I kind've miss the tone I got out from those old rounds. I know the top end on these strings will eventually wear off, but can I still play heavy genres of music with it?

Can a hofner actually sound like this?

Personally I absolutely love how different it sounds here, could be the 50's single coils though.

Is this action normal for a hofner copy?

I'd like to hear what you all think because I'm still coming to terms with these settings, anything lower and it buzzes like hell.
