    I think that Gibson EB-0 is short and EB-3 is long. I played EB-0 (short) in 1993. Fantastic sound! Big "cigarette box" pick up (neck). But I never saw FRETLESS 30'' bass - God knows why... (hahaha)...;)

    In 2001 I had fantastic Eko Kadett bass - shortscale (maybe my age - 1967). Very massive sound, good neck, bass with heart and feeling. I'm very sorry for this bass.

    He, folx - Alan Lanchaster (Status Quo) plays Fender Mustang and Musicmaster basses. I play bass since 1982, but NOW I play short 30'' - it's the great sound for boogie and blues! I never play 30'' bass with fingers, always with plectrum (better action and harder sound).
