Agreed. Sadowsky flats (I have a set waiting for the right bass... :) maybe on the P) are wonderful. Love TI flats (sold them with the Jack Casady)... Chromes are OK for me... HATE Rotosound. Have a spare set... anyone want 'em?

I did on my Fender P-Deluxe. Now use a Stingray 5 with rounds. The flats just "fit" the P-Deluxe (it is now gone). Next week I get a Carvin LB70F fretless with LaBella flats. I'll be playing with that quite a bit (I hope!)

Thanks, all, and yes, it is true. Good things are in the works. Yesterday it was a fill-in lead with acoustic... and me on a five string bass. It was incredible. What a great worship set, even though I didn't know what we were playing until about 8:30 am Sunday :) I think scaling it back...

Got a surprising email late last night... due to "issues at home" our WL has stepped down immediately. Thankfully we have a guy who can stand in... at least tomorrow! Hopefully for some time to come until we get a permanent replacement. This is a New Year's curveball I did NOT expect!

I read this (perhaps from you?) a year and a half ago... now I can transpose on the fly. Helps, too. Sunday morning our WL decided to change keys last second before service. He used his capo, I adjusted one fret down. It really does make it automatic!

Thanks, KR... one other thing I did not post. Our WL announced his departure at last Thursday's rehearsal. So... we have THAT going for us, too! :) He may or may not approach the sound guy. We shall see. We are trying to save up for a new board. Again, we will see how that pans out.

Yep. But nothing was 'cranked'. In rehearsal we had the level up so that I *could* hear it in the house. Sound guy just flattened it out. argh.

As the old saying goes: "Our sound guy is deaf in one ear and can't hear out the other". :( He apparently put MORE trust in the flashing lights of the sound board than in his ears. Frustrating. And yes, we apparently had gremlins, too. He's young, and 'knows everything'... a tough...

I've never played a Spector.... and don't know when/if/where to check one out. I'm a bit 'rural', y'know :D to what would you compare their sound?

I have dubbed our WL "King Capo" (and he likes it). He capos a lot of tunes (especially Tomlins) so that we're playing in Eb or Bb. Using a fiver has make hitting the low Eb priceless. I'm also getting used to playing a lot of tunes a little higher up the fretboard and still using the B string...
