Also not sure about the wood used - the optimist in me wonders if it's Mahogany? It's very straight grained, totally different to the basswood used on my Jet King 1 guitar (which is similiar in style to this bass and the reason I bought this bass :D))

That's one of the links I came across MaxDusty. There are some small differences (to my bass that is, perhaps not the OP's bass) such as the truss-rod cover plate, lack of thumb-rest (finger-rest on the pickguard was clearly once there though), black knobs, the lower horn has been flattened...
