I'm having the same issue, Bandmates asked me to try rounds on my ATK300 but then I felt Like I was lost in the mix. When I plug in my bass with the GHS flatwounds I feel right at home.

That is a beautiful bass, may I ask what a Darkstar is and what makes it special?

Thats what I think will happen to me as well :) I started on flatwounds and always get questioned about it, rounds they say are the right way. :p

When I started out I was told I needed an active bass to sound proper, then I played a passive P and wow!

Thank you. What is an SPL? Are you meaning how much air it can push? I realize my 2x15 volume wise isn't going to be matched by a single 10 or 12 inch but when at home there is an occasion I would enjoy turning up the volume and being able to feel it somewhat.

Like it wants to explode when turned up, gets "farty" as I've read the description on here before. But too soon when turning up the volume.
